Q: Which countries are being reached by the Adopt a Pastor Ministry?
A: We operate in 8 out of the 10 Portuguese-speaking countries of the world:
Q: Is it expensive to adopt a pastor?
A: Through a donation of US$ 35 a month (US$ 420 a year) you can adopt a pastor and follow his spiritual progress through his letters. An additional US$ 15 a month (US$ 180 a year) will enable his wife to accompany him to the annual conferences.
Q: How long will my sponsorship last?
A: Our goal is to keep a pastor in the project for at least three years. The sponsor has the option to continue to help his pastor if he so desires. Sponsors should commit to adopting a pastor for a minimum of one year.
Q: Will I hear from my sponsored pastor?
A: Pastors are made aware that they should write to their sponsors bimonthly. These letters normally tell of their ministerial activities, prayer requests, and what they have gleaned from the books and conferences. When a pastor does not follow through with this requirement, he may be substituted by a pastor on our waiting list.
Q: How do I make my contributions?
A: Simply fill out the online form at the bottom of the Adopt a Pastor Ministry page and indicate the method you wish to send your contribution (check or credit card). Checks should be payable to CLA (Christian Literature Advance) and sent to:

Q: How do I keep track of my contributions?
A: To help you keep track of your contributions, CLA will send you a monthly tax-deductible receipt of your payment. If you contribute by check, we will also send you a return envelope for you to send your next contribution to the Adopt a Pastor Ministry.
Q: Can I send packages and special offerings to my sponsored pastor?
A: We are aware that many of the pastors have pressing material needs. However, to avoid the development of an unhealthy dependence upon foreign support to meet these needs, we discourage the sending of gifts or special offerings except in the case of medical emergencies.
Q: Can I write to my sponsored pastor?
A: We encourage correspondence between the pastor and his sponsor. To protect the sponsor's privacy and for Fiel to follow up the progress of the ministry, all correspondence should be channeled through the Fiel office in Brazil.
Send your letters to: [email protected]
Q: Can I personally meet my adopted pastor?
A: Yes! A good time to meet your sponsored pastor is during our annual conferences held in his native country. Sponsors are always welcome to attend the conferences. For information on arranging a get together with your sponsored pastor, write us.
